He is survived by: his wife Laverne Hooks of Alexander City; his children, Dathia Newman (Ryan) of Alexander City, Morgan McLeroy (Melissa) of Goodwater, James Earl Lee (Whitney) of Millbrook and Phillip Hooks (Kim) of Jacksons Gap; his stepdaughter Amanda McCain (Barry) of Goodwater; and his brothers, Billy Joe Hooks (Gloria), David Randall Hooks (Glenda) of Tallassee, John Hooks, Jr. (Patricia) of Bluff Springs and Bryant Hooks of Kellyton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
