Irene Tate Gandy Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Tate Gandy (Alexander City, Alabama), who passed away on May 20, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Willie Ralph Gandy; her son Austin Marvin Gandy; her daughter-in-law Deborah Dye Gandy; her parents, Marvin Tate and Laverne Tate; her parents-in-law, Lester and Evie Gandy; her children, Bill Gandy, Judy Glass (Carl), Jimmy Gandy and Joan White (Curtiss); her brother Alvin Tate (Carol); and her sister-in-law Jan Carder. She was also cherished by her 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to Camp Sumatanga (a United Methodist camp), 3616 Sumatanga Road, Gallant, Alabama 35972.
