He is survived by: his wife Alyce Harris Carlisle of Virginia; his children, Jennifer Lauren Flanagan (John) and Richard Benjamin Carlisle (Angella); and his grandchildren, Margaret Maxwell Flanagan, John Patrick Flanagan, James Edwin Carlisle and Troy Benjamin Carlisle.
