He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Carter of Alexander City; his children, Donald Ray Carter (Connie Lynn Bryan) of Alexander City, Kandy Carter Smith (Lynn) of Bowling Green, KY and Lisa Stargill of Alexander City; his grandchildren, Shelly Hatcher, Wesley Stargill, Elijah Stargill and Dustin Smith (Michelle); his great grandchildren, Kylin Smith, Tegan Smith, Calum Hatcher, Oliver Hatcher and Gage Burke; and his sisters, Tonie Rogers (Raymond) of Lenoir City, TN and Joan Scroggins of Jacksons Gap.
