She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Petty, Sr. and Annie Pearl Whitman Petty; her husband Zenos Willard "Bill" Burkhalter; her son Joseph Darryl Burkhalter; and her siblings, John Wesley Petty, Jr., Evelyn Shelton, Ruth Earl Petty, Geraldine Fuller and Glenda Jean "Dinky" Bailey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah DuPriest (Don) and Lyssa Riggins (Boyce); her grandchildren, Rachel Burkhalter Latham (Jason), Emily Burkhalter Meyers (Bill), Leigh Cleveland Zornes (John), Jennifer Cleveland Phurrough and William Burke Spears (Kenny Brown); her great grandchildren, Taylor Latham, Samantha Latham, Samuel Meyers and Cooper Phurrough; and her siblings, Harold Petty, Larry Petty, Carole Petty and Sandra Granger. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to Wayside Baptist Church, the Diabetes Association, the Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of your choice.
