It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carlos Burton McDaniel Sr. (Alexander City, Alabama), born in Opelika, Alabama, who passed away on January 25, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis McDaniel and Elizabeth Savannah Overton McDaniel; his daughter Anna Faye Jones; and his siblings, Mae Singleton, Geneva Wilson, Loneta Eastridge, Grace Moore and Chester McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Iva Mae McDaniel; his children, Carlos B. McDaniel Jr. (Shirley) and Peggy Lynn Newcomb (Pete); and his grandchildren, Jason McDaniel (Kim), Steve Wingo (Amy), Marcus McDaniel, Austin McDaniel, Jessy Reynolds (Kaitlyn), Aidan McDaniel-Fuller, Tim Jones (Samantha), Jeff Jones (Marcy), Ben Casarez (Catrina), Jessica Ocegueda (Martin), Shaun Casarez (Miriam), Joshua Newcomb and Phillip Newcomb. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
