He was predeceased by: his parents, John Forrest Speaks and Mary Elizabeth Dean Speaks; his wife Betty Ann Smith Speaks; and his siblings, Juanita Laster, Edith Bailey, Ruth McCord, Shug Spraggins, Voncile Shores, Gordon Speaks and Johnny Speaks.
He is survived by: his son Mark Speaks (Connie) of Alexander City; his granddaughter Season Speaks Johnson (Dylan); and his great grandchildren, Truxton Wes Johnson and Nash Sterling Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Meals on Wheels, 3316 Highway 280, Alexander City, AL 35010.
