He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Splain and Marie Kohlmaier Splain; his stepson Terry Bain; and his siblings, James Splain, Rose Marie Splain and Dorothy Mazurowski.

He is survived by: his wife Maxine Johnson Bain Splain; and his siblings, Thomas Splain (Barbara) of New York and Betty Splain of Pennsylvania.
