He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane Sampson; his daughter Sabrina Self; his brothers, Jerry Chamblee, Donny Turner, Benny Turner, Al Turner and Thomas Chamblee; his mother Lula Turner; and his grandparents, Ollie and Mirt Sampson.

He is survived by: his grandsons, Joey Sampson, Kevin Self and Shannon Self; his great grandchildren, Kyndal, Brodie, Peyton Sampson, Samantha, Darreus, Alarick and Mazikeen Self; and his siblings, Betty Tipton, Debra Mitchell, Brenda Cook, Larry Chamblee and Kenneth Chamblee (Janice). He is also survived by his family and friends.
