She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Sams and Iula Sams; her husband Junior McCoy; her son Barry McCoy; her great grandchild Nilah Celeste McGuire; her siblings, Dean Cook, Francis Richey, Mildred Rowell, Nettie Johnson, Gwen Tucker, Winnie Wallace, Robert Sams, Wendell Sams, Donald Sams, Earnest Sams and Leon Sams; and her brother-in-law Ervin Bates.
She is survived by: her sons, Rickey McCoy (Susie), Neal McCoy (Connie) and Phillip Earl McCoy; and her sisters, Janie Bates and Evelyn Shirey. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
