He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulbe Sandstra and Willemke Sandstra; his former wife Wilma; his stepmother Johanna; his sisters, Tryntje Sandstra, Ann Gerlat and Grace Holtrop; his sister-in-law Nellie Sandstra; his stepsiblings, Audrey DeJong, Gerry DeJong and Dick DeJong; his nephews, Ernie Holtrop, Sid Holtrop and Joshua Sandstra; and his niece Jannel Sandstra.
He is survived by: his wife Lila; his children, Ron (Anita Sandstra), Chris (Cheryl Sandstra), Joel (Kristine Sandstra), Phil (Gayle Sandstra), Brianna Sandstra (Carter Denbury), Desiree Sandstra, Dakota Sandstra, Anita (Rob Entingh), Richard (Sarah Entingh), Jason Entingh, Wilma (Richard Vander Leek), Matthew (Stephanie Vander Leek), Justine (Andrew Bromley), Karissa (Andrew), Brayden (Katrina Vander Leek) and Ted (Brigitte Le Normand); his siblings, Peter Sandstra (Hazel), Marvin Sandstra (Wilma), Jenny Wright (Wayne), Sid Sandstra (Jeanette), Jan DeJong (Joan), Magda Dykstra (Jim), Johan DeJong (Marian), Joanne Rozendaal (Curt), Tony DeJong and Henry DeJong (Linda); and his uncle Mike. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
