He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Sykes and Brenda Sykes. He is survived by: his children, Kyla (Walter) and Matthew (Katelyn); his grandchildren, Pearl and Walter; and his siblings, Linda (Jim) and Marcy (Rob). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Stollery Children's Hospital.
