In the vast expanse of eternity, Lonnie James shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Lonnie James farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Donald Sr. and Alice Inez Mims. He is survived by: his wife Laura Inabinet Mims; his children, Lonnie "Jamie" Mims Jr. (Kennedie) and Madison Mims; his siblings, Don Mims (Kathryn), Doug Mims (Lisa) and Donna Blankenship (Paul); and his grandson Lincoln.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124).
