He was predeceased by: his parents, George M. Stinson and Mildred Lillian Stinson. He is survived by: his wife Bettie Stinson; his children, Scotty Smith and Natlie Chastain (Brian); his grandchildren, Carlie Haynes (Josh), Emma Chastain, Brayden Chastain and Carter Smith; his great grandchildren, Riley and Reagan Haynes; and his brother Rev. Judd Stinson (Libba).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
