He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Monroe Gentry and Emmer Louise Cooedy Gentry; his grandson Joshua Murray; and his stepdaughter Terene Robinson. He is survived by: his wife Joan Rector Gentry; his daughters, Rebecca Ward (Doug) and Angelia Soren (Ben); his grandchildren, Christian Ward-James, Matthew Murray and Dillon Robinson; his great grandchild Coraline James; and his sister Patricia Ebrahimi (Essie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Attire is casual and the family requests that all guests wear masks and observe social distancing protocol.
