It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Freeman Payne of Akron, Alabama, who passed away on October 4, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Freeman Payne to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Oscar Payne; her parents, David H. Freeman and Christine Freeman; and her sisters, Alice Brown and Barbara Kelly.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Payne (Tamika) and Bruce Payne; her grandson Lawrence Payne; and her siblings, Marjolena Payne and David C. Freeman. She is also survived by her children, extended family.
Due to the Covid virus, a private graveside service will be held for family and close friends at Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, October 8, 2021 with Bro. Tim McCool officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
