With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marjolena Freeman Payne of Akron, Alabama, who passed away on April 15, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband George H. Payne; her son Dennis Gordon Payne; her parents, David Freeman and Christine Freeman; and her siblings, Alice Brown Barbara Kelley, Shirley Payne and David C. Freeman.
She is survived by: her children, Shonna P. Woods (Thomas), Georgette Johnson (Dennis) and Richard Keith Payne (Vicky); her grandchildren, Todd Payne (Brooke), Chad Payne (Lesley), Brooke Roberts, Tommy Woods (Camrie) and Kyle Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Emberly Brooke Moore, Ella Brantley Moore, Taelor Brooke Devore, Ellison Kathryn Payne, Hank Wyatt Payne, Sadie Drew Payne and Anna Claire Payne.
A graveside service was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Concord Cemetery (9850 AL-60, Moundville, AL 35441).
