He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Sims and Joyce Sims; his brothers, Glenn and J. D. Sims; and his nephew J. C. Sims.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Sims; his daughters, Kimberly South (Lynn) and Krissy Sims Hartley (Michael); his grandchildren, Eryn Tidwell, Zack Sims, Colby Vining, Chance Morgan, Trinity Hutcherson, J. T. South, Julie South, Chance Tidwell, Jordan Morgan, Hope Acker, Erin Hartley and Micah Hartley; his great grandchildren, Levi Tidwell, Karson Sims, Rylee Hartley, Tori Hartley and Jon Luke Tidwell; and his siblings, Mike Sims, Vicki Alford and Teresa Winsett.
