He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Umphrey and I. V. Umphrey; his wife Frances Larene Umphrey; his brother Carl; and his children, Therman Dale and Carla.
He is survived by: his daughter Gail Brown (Robert); his grandchildren, Roman Harris (Amber), Robyn Howard (Jesse) and Nathan Brown (Angel); his great grandchildren, Katherine, James Harris, Kanah Chambers (Walker), Kenley, Kaley Grace, Khloe, Jesse Grant, Judson, Jonah, Kardyn, Jack, Kegan Howard, Nate and Brooks Brown; his siblings, Larry Umphrey (Carolyn) and Freda Burgess; and his pet Coco. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (15765 US-278, Cullman, AL 35057). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
