She was predeceased by: her husband Durell Lois Higdon; and her daughter Terri Kae Higdon Sams. She is survived by: her daughter Kathy Higdon Cox (James Neil); her son-in-law Lennie M. Sams (Pam); and her grandchildren, Chris Cox, Jared M. Sams (Kristi), Justin M. Sams (Brandi) and Gina Cox Sides.
