He was predeceased by: his son James Helms "Knothead"; his parents, Annie L. Helms and James Aaron Helms; and his brother Robert A. "Bobbie" Helms. He is survived by: his wife Alice Helms; his children, Kristie MacKay, Michael Jordan, Steve Jordan (Connie) and Lee Helms (Dawn); his grandchildren, Ashley MacKay (Daniel), Shayna Dorley (Dakota), Michael MacKay, Amanda Helms, Amber Helms, Shae Rodgers (Kyle) and Vickie Swanzy (Heath); his great grandchildren, Rylee MacKay, Kailyn Holland, Liam Rodgers and Axel Swanzy; and his siblings, Donnie Helms (Pam) and Terry Patterson (Paul).
