He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward "Ed" Cox and Eloise Cox; and his brother Larry "Red" Cox. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Cox; his children, Chris Cox (Amy) and Gina Laney; his granddaughter Courtney Collins (Jonathan); and his sisters, Gloria and Echols. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
