He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elmer Drain and Mabel Newsom Drain; his wife Doris Files Drain; his son John Franklin Drain; and his siblings, George Drain, Johnny Drain, Betty Smith Wilson and Sarah Freeman.

He is survived by: his granddaughters, Jessica Hope and Joy Grace; his daughter Jackie Drain Webb; and his granddaughters, Jessica Hope Webb and Joy Grace Webb. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
