He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Whitehead and Julia Kist Whitehead; his son Christopher Dean Whitehead; his grandsons, Joseph Bauman-Whitehead and Joshua Bauman-Whitehead; and his brothers, David Whitehead, Larry Gillespie, Donald Kist and Randy Whitehead.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Renfroe Whitehead; his daughter Pinkie Lenora Bauman; his grandchildren, Austin Bauman and Kaitlyn Bauman; his siblings, Marjorie Turner of Abbeville, Shirley Money (Russell) of Abbeville, Della Searcy (Tommy) and Tim Whitehead (Yvonne); and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Whitehead and Dorothy Kist.
