He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Wade Smothers and Vera Myrtle Green Smothers; his siblings, Mathell Sellers, Wynodell Harris and George Smothers; his wife Marie Norton Smothers; his sons, Phillip Smothers of Headland, David Smothers of Headland and Jeff Smothers of Headland; his stepsons, Russell Bailey of Abbeville and Kenneth Bailey (Angela) of Abbeville; his sister Shirley Welch; his grandchildren, Ashley, Amber and Tiffany; and his stepgrandchildren, Morgan, Jamie, Aaron, Brooke and Paige.
In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID-19 Virus, a graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, May 7, 2020, in the Judson Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Preston officiating.
