It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maggie Carter of Abbeville, Alabama, who passed away on February 22, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Oree Hancock and Osa Hendley Hancock; her husband Robert Clint Carter; her son-in-law Roger Herring; and her siblings, Nell Bedsole, Mary Lou Beasley, Ruby Mims, Clyde Hancock, Sr., William Hancock, Wilfred Hancock, Robert Hancock and Jesse Hancock.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheila Carter Herring of Abbeville and Melissa Carter Davis (Jimmy Don) of Abbeville; her sisters, Earnestine Harpe Tapley of Abbeville and Peggy Culpepper of Abbeville; her siblings-in-law, Judy Hancock, Gisela Hancock and Johnny Frank Carter (Annette); her grandchildren, Hunter Herring (Katherine Hudgens), Clay Herring (Haley), Joseph Herring, Dillon Johnson (Brittany), Jess Johnson, Tosha Davis and Jimmy Don Davis, Jr. (Kathryn); her great grandchildren, Christian, Kelsey, Bricen, Tye, Luke, Kate, Harrison and Kinsley; and also Bettye Graham.
Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.
