It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Malcolm Murphy Jr. of Abbeville, Alabama, who passed away on August 25, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Malcolm Murphy, Sr. and Mary Roberts Murphy; his sisters, Jane Kirby and Sarah Messick; his son-in-law Randy Barnes; and his great grandchild Caden Rush.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Messick Murphy; his children, Stephanie Capps (Dan), Stella Barnes, Brendt Murphy (Marsha) of Abbeville and Mike Murphy (Rosemary) of Abbeville; his brother George E. Murphy (Jane); and his grandchildren, Alan Capps (Chasity), Dawn Selva (Jason), Kati Goodrich (John), Mack Capps (Brittany), Dr. Chase Murphy, Mallory Rush (Hollins), Caroline Mitchell (Chase), Harrison Barnes, Michael Murphy (Haydyn) and Molly Crawford (Cory).

Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.
