It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby Rex Messer of Abbeville, Alabama, born in Geneva, Alabama, who passed away on March 25, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Otis and Elizabeth Deshazo Messer; and his siblings, Roy A. Messer, Marion Don Messer, Franklin Otis "Buddy" Messer and Joann Messer Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Marie King Messer; his sons, David Wayne Messer (Frances), Robert Terrell Messer (Peggy) and Randall Eugene Messer (Paula); and his stepson Curtis David Cobb (Becky). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; countless great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
