Mavis H. Lancaster Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Mavis H. Lancaster (Soldotna, Alaska), born in Sydney, New South Wales, who passed away at the age of 81, on November 15, 2018. Her family wrote, "Mavis was known as a strict landlady and hard worker and had been known to wake up tenants mowing the lawn late into the night, as well as take the apartment door off if the rent was not paid. Mavis was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Laura. Mavis is survived by her husband, Ken Lancaster of Soldotna; daughters, Sandy McGuckin of Columbia, South Carolina, Robin LaVecchia of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kelly Blazy of Seattle, Wash., and Stacy Andelin of Costa Mesa, Calif.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren and step-grandchildren too numerous to mention; her brother, George Hawkins of Tauranga, New Zealand; and her beloved dog, Princess Scruffy. Memorial donations may be sent to the Salvation Army in memory of Mavis. Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
