He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Mothershead and Edna Mothershead; and his siblings, Lisa Archibald, Brad Mothershead, Barry Mothershead (Marilyn), Bryan Mothershead (Lorraine) and Greg Mothershead (Marcie).

He is survived by: his spouse Ann; his children, Gerald Spies and Amanda Loosli; and his son-in-law Brian. He is also survived by four grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
