With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marja Sassi in Juneau, Alaska, who passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Erkki Airikka and Olga Natuneen Airikka of Kotka; and her son-in-law Brent K. Barnes of Ball Ground. She is survived by: her former spouse Heimo Sassi (John); her husband John Sassi; her children, Ari Sassi (Lisa Idell-Sassi) and Marjo Rita Barnes-Snead (Walt Snead); her grandchildren, Alyx Massie (Tanner Massie), Liam Idell, Brooke, Braden, Morgan Barnes, Madelyne, Samantha Sassi, Skylar and Ian Snead; her great grandchildren, Avery, Rilla, Lewis and Wesley Massie; and her sister Sirkka Tarvainen (Reijo).
