She was predeceased by: her parents, Laylon Kibler and Myrtle Elizabeth Smith Kibler; her stepson Roscoe Young; and her siblings, Vivian Brooks, Roy Kibler, Laylon Kibler, Jr. and Boylese Kibler.

She is survived by: her son Herman A. Evans II; her stepchildren, Liznon Chandler and Willie Jr.; her grandchildren, Dawnn N. Dukes, Sheryl R. Clarke and Angela M. Johnson; and her great grandchild Christian H. Blassingame.
