Sarah Jane Grabowski Obituary
Our beloved daughter Sarah, passed away suddenly all too soon at age 23. Sarah was amazing! She was a life long Alaskan. Sarah touched many people with her love and kindness. All who knew her loved her!
When she was just five years old, she raised over $850 by selling rocks off the street to raise money for a classmate who needed a new heart. She was interviewed by the Alaska Star newspaper and by Anchorage's Channel 11 news. We were surprised to learn this story was told in Europe! Sarah proved she was a successful entrepreneur by owning her own business her at age 22.
Sarah was adventure loving, intelligent, compassionate, beautiful, determined, persistent, and truly a gift of heaven. She enjoyed hiking, boating, waterskiing, snowboarding, and reading. She loved to write and in elementary school was writing a book with the goal of being published.
She loved our family camping trips to Seward. Sarah was very creative and did alcohol ink painting and stained glass art with her mother.
Sarah is survived by her parents, Steve and Sandy Grabowski, her brothers, David and Michael Grabowski, sister Cierra Holtman Grabowski and her soulmate and the love of her life, William McDonald and his family who loved her as their own.
In lieu of flowers, do as Sarah did and love your loved ones and those around you with God's unconditional love.
A memorial service will be held at Bridge of Hope Church in Peters Creek on Saturday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. A potluck will follow the service.
