She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Hart and Julia Hart; her sister Joyce Raymond; her stepgrandson Danny Joseph; and her son George Melican.
She is survived by: her former husband George Patrick Melican; her sons, Joe and Tim; her husband Don McKenzie; her stepchildren, Pete McKenzie and Cindy Johnson (Mike); her children, Tom Melican and Kristen Nevala; her son-in-law Matt Nevala; her stepgrandson Justin Joseph (Luck); her daughter Kai; and her granddaughters, Maggie and Moira Nevala. She is also survived by numerous other friends and family.
