He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his children, Jennifer Janes (Gary), Nathan Midthun (Brittany), Andrew Midthun (Maura Bishop) and Sarah Lyons (Scott); and his grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Anchorage.
