She was predeceased by: her brother Jack Wolfenden. She is survived by: her significant other Paul Landis; her son Bruce Thompson; her daughter-in-law Pamela; her grandchildren, Jared, Jacob and Julia; and her close friend Cooper (English Sheppard). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Joan was very giving and involved with the dog rescue community, donating throughout her life to many organizations that catered to animals in need of homes.
