Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Gene Gerken (Anchorage, Alaska), born in Rochester, Minnesota, who passed away at the age of 69, on April 9, 2024. He was predeceased by: his father Harvey Gerken; and his brother Steven Lee. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Gerken (Ring); his mother Marlys Marie Gerken of Lake City, Minnesota; his daughters, Jennifer Hill (Les Hill) of Keller, Jeri Rodriguez of Anchorage and Danielle Wiles (Scott) of Anchorage; his grandchildren, Madison, Wyatt, Ruby Hill, Brayden Gene and Aubrey Wiles; his sister Lori Meyers of Lake City, Minnesota; his nephew Jake Meyers (Ashley); his niece Megan Meyers (Ty); and his great-nephews, Lincoln, Beckett Meyers and Owen Meyers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church.

“Vicki and family, So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. You, Gene, and family had always been really close friends and family. You always welcomed us every time we returned to Alaska and when you visited us in Colorado. We really enjoyed the jet skiing, brewpubs, dinners, laughter and fun. I have a number of very fond memories of fishing and UAA basketball games with Gene. He will be greatly missed by me and our family. May he rest in peace. Bill & Susan Roeder”
