Nicky Hayden Obituary

Nicky Hayden was born in a family in which the motorcycle was a passion. During his childhood he alternated school during the week and races during the weekends because his family and him traveled the United States to allow him to perform his motorcycle races. His parents Earl and Rose invested heavily in the careers of their children, traveling the country in a camper.

His two other brothers, Tommy and Roger Lee are also two motorcycle drivers like Nicky. The youngest of the three, Roger Lee made several wildcards and replacements in MotoGP.Nicky's career began at the age of four, with motocross races. It was only at the age of eleven that he participated in his first race on track, with a mini motorcycle.

Seduced by the motorcycle circuits, Nicky Hayden abandoned the motocross fields two years later. Nicky Hayden made his circuit debut in the North American championship with Honda in 1998. With Honda, he continued and started in 2000 in AMA Superbike.

He finished in his first season in second place of the championship, then the following year in the 3rd place. In total, he won 17 AMA Superbike races and the title of champion in 2002.May 17, 2017 Nicky Hayden was hit by a car while riding a bicycle on the road from Tavoleto to Riccione, south of Rimini. He was seriously injured and died on 22 May 2017 because of his injuries.
