Elijah Cummings Obituary
During the early hours of October 17, 2019, Rep. Elijah Cummings of the Democratic party was pronounced dead at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD at age 68. His death came unexpectedly, but was due to health complications.
Cummings had represented Maryland's 7th congressional district since 1996 and as chairman of the House Oversight Committee, he had played a large role in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
He used his strong voice to bring forth the topic of the struggles and necessities of inner-city residents. He wanted to help the poor and addicted, which he evidently displayed through his support of much-debated approaches to help them.
Cummings leaves behind his wife, Maya Rockeymoore, and three children. Help show your support for Rep. Elijah Cummings, his family, and his friends by leaving a message of condolence and lighting a candle on his memorial page.
