Bill Paxton Obituary

Bill Paxton, the Emmy Award-nominated actor, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, of complications from surgery, according to multiple news sources. He was 61.A family spokesperson announced the death Sunday. No other details were provided, however.Paxton played an astronaut in ’Apollo 13.’ His other films include ’Twister,’ ’Aliens,’ ’Predator 2,’ and ’Titanic,’ in which he played a treasure hunter.Paxton was born May 17, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up there.

Early in his prolific film career, he played a punk thug in 1984's ’The Terminator.’ He worked with director James Cameron in 1994's ’True Lies’ and the 1997 blockbuster ’Titanic.’ He starred alongside Helen Hunt in the 1996 disaster film ’Twister.’The versatile actor also played roles on television. He had the lead role on the HBO series ’Big Love,’ which ran from 2006 to 2011. He received an Emmy Award nomination for the 2012 miniseries ’Hatfields & McCoys’ that aired on the History Channel.
