He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Tanchyk and Anne Tanchyk; his brothers, Russell, Marco and Martin; his parents-in-law, Peter Sawchuk and Lena Sawchuk; his sister-in-law Jeanette Sawchuk; and his niece Jocelyn Morash.
He is survived by: his wife Deanna Tanchyk; his daughters, Bernice Lyons (Paul) of Saskatoon, Bertha Delgaty (Brent) of Regina, Brenda Wasden (Dale) of Spiritwood and Paula Tetzlaff (Kevin) of Regina; his grandchildren, Cameron, Carly (Nicholas), Mitchell (Dana), Shawn (Jarynn), Gillian (Conor), Julia (Walker), Jordan, Brydon and Macy; his great grandchildren, Hudson and Nora; his sisters, Martha Didychuk and Lydia Prescott (Peter); and his siblings-in-law, Steve, Debbie (Ivan), Cheryl (Myron), Doreen (Rodney) and Margaret (Len).
A prayer was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church (89 Bradbrooke Dr, Yorkton, SK S3N2Y2). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:50 AM at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens (SK-10, Yorkton, SK S3N0Y9).
Memorials in memory of Orest Tanchyk may be made to the Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church or to Trident Church Camp as gifts of remembrance.
