He was predeceased by: his parents, Samual "Sam" Yanko and Mary Yanko (Sudyn); his parents-in-law, Fred and Dora Spilchen (Popowich); and his brothers-in-law, Nester Syrotiuk, John Bubyn, Wayne, Robert and David Spilchen.

He is survived by: his wife Adeline; his children, Jackie Degelman (Darren), David Yanko (Heather) and Darcy Spilchen (Deedee); his grandchildren, Eric Spilchen, Leah, Brady Degelman, Rowan and Nolton Yanko; his sister Mary Bubyn; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Spilchen (Maxine), Dennis Spilchen and Debbie Coles (Barry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
