He was predeceased by: his parents, Wong Bing Qian and Wong Chou Fong; his wife Lillian Lai Sun of Ming's Cafe; his brother Wong Check Lap; and his sister-in-law Wong Shui Ping.

He is survived by: his son Ge Fong (Laura) of Regina; his grandchildren, Lexus and Keana; his brother David Chan (Anna); his niece Angie Keaton (Shane); his great-niece Gabriella; his great-nephew Garrett; his nieces and nephews, Debbie Chan and Sandy Rice (Craig); his son Frank Chan (Julia); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Benjamin (Hannah), Crystal, Christian and Chelsea of California; his goddaughter Tammy (Dizhi Zhu); and also, Juliett Cross (Brad Hill) of Virginia, Alison, Bosco, Cayla and Dayton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorials in memory of Ming may be made to towards Palliative Care at the Pasqua Hopsital in Regina.
