He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig and Ida; and his brother Reinhold Arndt. He is survived by: his wife Stella Arndt; his daughters, Tina Arndt (Ian Turnbull) and Monica Palidwar (Jamie Palidwar); his grandchildren, Mila Palidwar, Sabina Palidwar, Stella Turnbull and Jacob Turnbull; and his sister Maria Franken. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
