He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Cooke and Florence Cooke; his wife Melva; his brother Donald Cooke (Joan); his brother-in-law Ed Dinius; and also, Beatrice Phillips (Jack), Ray Rolston (Margaret) and Doreen Simpson (Lionel).
He is survived by: his children, Vernna Wiggins (Warren), Cheryl Cooke (Robert Stanners) and Kevin Cooke (Bonnie Adacsi-Cooke); his grandchildren, Randi Maurer (Adam), Charli Churko (Justin), Chantel Cooke and Cody Cooke (Sam Evans); his great grandchildren, Lane, Dalis, Payton, Quinn Maurer, Elise, Rhett, Maverick Churko, Haelo Cooke and Danton Oliver; his sister Maxine McKinnon; his stepchildren, John Stanners (Robin), Lesley Vukelich (John) and Robbie Stanners (Leanne); and also, George Rolston (Hilda), Valerie Dinius, Jim Phillips (Judy) and Perry Phillips (Anne). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, a lot of really great friends.
In lieu of flowers, for family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Verne may be made to the Grace United Church Memorial Fund, 210 Third Street, Weyburn, SK, S4H 2K1.
