He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Budding and Isabella Budding; and his sister Elsie Weisbrod. He is survived by: his wife Leona; his children, Dave Budding (Joan), Sharon Janzen (Bob), Daphne Bishop (Thomas) and Dale Budding (Lori-Ann); his grandchildren, Stephanie Bracken, Becky Tiede (Jason), Michelle Sinclair (Patrick), Christy Ewert (Steve), Aaron Janzen (Erin), Heidi Magill (Steve), Ashley Benoit (Nick), Dallas Bishop and Mandy Bishop; and his niece Iona Reinheimer. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
