He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Schmidt and Emma Schmidt; his siblings-in-law, Frank and Mary Miller; his wife Lauretta Schmidt; his siblings, Eva Comstock, Gladys Forsyth, Ella Harris, Mary Achen, Christina Schmidt, Florence Johnston, Leonard Schmidt, Floyd Schmidt and Edward Schmidt; and his great grandchildren, Daisey and Zoey Cunningham.
He is survived by: his children, Don Schmidt (Fay, family: Donna, Logan, Colton, Scott, Mark, Len, Nate), Dianne Brown (Jim, family: Dave, Liam, Eric, Colin, Baylyn), Marlene Adderley (Kevan, family: Alison, Daxon, Nadine, Alaina, Livia, Connor, Corbin, Cale, Charlee, Melanie [Beckett]), Dolores Roettger (Armin, family: Kerri, Dylan, Phoenix, Ryker, Kaybree, Waylon, Kirkland, Brayden, Elise, Morgun, Atley, Kyler, Raine, Hans [Kynlee], Ayla [Talen]), Dale Schmidt (Josie, family: Dan, Andrew, Kate, Mason, Michael, Rochelle, Jasper, Mia, Christopher), Joanne Babiarz (Phil, family: Jesse, Paycen, Taisley, Erika, Nika, Natalie, Nevaeh, Kale) and Val Lund (Dean, family: Ashley, Emerson, Robert, Colton, Brooklyn, Jasmine). He is also survived by sister and brother in laws as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
