He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Herring and Verdella Herring (Hughes); his sister Norma Jean Lewis; and his parents-in-law, Peter and Anna Gaab.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores Herring (Gaab) of Weyburn, SK; his children, Troy Herring (Cheryl) of White City, SK, Kerri Herring (Curtis Kemp), Jordan Herring, Denny Herring (Chantel Lizuck) of Weyburn, SK, Emma Herring and Glenn Herring (Stephanie) of Calgary, AB; his granddaughter Audrey Herring; his great grandchild Charlie Herring; his son Rob Herring (Heather) of Calgary, AB; his grandson Ian Herring; and his brothers-in-law, Darcy Lewis, Delmar Gaab (Lynda) and Dale Gaab (Ada). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
