He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bornholdt and Margaret Bornholdt; his sister Jean; his brother-in-law Nelson Hay; his nephews, Neil Hay and George Hay; and his niece Kathy Hill.

He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret Hill (Jack) and Dick Bornholdt (Jo-Anne); and his nieces and nephews, Marilyn Yourex (Jim), Diane Muir (Rick), Mickey Hill (Sandra), Dana Hill (Kathy), Colleen Hill, Karen Dixon (Dale), Jim Hill, Darla Bornholdt (Kim), Donna Bornholdt (Blair) and Bill Bornholdt (Heather).
