He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn; his daughter-in-law Arlene; his mothers, Anne Hansen and Edna Amos; his brother Peter Hansen; and his siblings-in-law, Caja Hansen and Kristian Markussen.

He is survived by: his children, Brian (Teresa Minty) of Oxbow, Donald, Mark (Delta) of Yorkton and Doris of Carmacks, Yukon; his grandchildren, Heather Tober (Dan), Kayla Guckert (David), Kaitlyn Fornwald (Nick), Alayna Hansen (Jeff Bailey) and Chris Hansen Jr.; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Rachel, Dane, Kyle, Ethan, Kayn, Alexa, Brianne and Chloe; his sisters, Helga Markussen and Frieda Bonde (Christian); and his sister-in-law Maxine Levang (Brian).
